I have a hard time reading the serial numbers so I can't tell you a specific caliber.

• For instance, it would have been impossible to have produced a Model of 1922 pistol in 1914, in time to assassinate Archduke Franz Ferdinand. The Model of 1910 was somewhat similar, but it was not the same (and Princip's M.1910 was in.380 ACP). • Since the German Luftwaffe dates from 1935, the Model 1922 could not have been 'originally designed for the German Luftwaffe (Airforce).' But, yes, some of the pilots were issued it after Belgium—and the FN factory—was taken over by the Nazis. Kari 4 pro license key free. • Back in the 1920s and '30s, Belgian citizens could own pistols, including the Model of 1922. Although it was not limited to the police and military, a civilian would have had to special-order it from the factory. See: Also see: And: And.

Do not lose the barrel cap catch. 5 Lock slide to rear using forward notch 6 Rotate barrel from 12 to 3 o'clock position.

Will have to look up the value once I get the Blue Book out of hiding. $150 is a very good deal. Aren't terribly uncommon.are hard to find in excelent original shape. Were a pretty popular gun before.during.and after the war. The nazi marking add to the value for WWI collectors. Onwed two of them over the years. It has the crown with the W for Queen Wilhelmina. All the proof marks are clean and crisp. I seriously doubt it has been refinished.

Yugoslavia: Yugoslavia was the first nation to adopt the Model 1922, placing an order for some 60,000 pistols in February, 1923. Orders for the pistols continued into the late 1930's, with service being provided for the Yugoslav pistols at the Kragujevac Arsenal (which had been set up under the guidance of FN personnel). Many of the Yugoslav Army M1922 pistols were captured by the Germans during World War Two. These captured pistols were reissued to German and satellite forces under the designation P641(j).

I doubt if it has been faked. Looking at it, the changes either had to been done at the factory. I doubt anyone wold have faked it as (1) they would have had a better finish, (2) the very existence of it raises red flags. So it would not be an easy sell, (3) The known history of it indicates that t is legit. There are a lot of interesting questons. A few are: Was it one of a kind? (Would FN redesign the pistol in the first year of production and change the assembly lines for one pistol?) Was it a separate contract?

Serialization began in the 67,000 - 68,000 range and proceeded to approximately serial number 155,000. In late 1943 serialization was restarted using the German military system. In this system serial numbers were limited to five digits with a one letter suffix. The letter indicated a block of 100,000 pistols. (Example: A pistol with the serial number 34554b is actually the 234,554th pistol produced - the first block of 100,000 had no suffix, pistols 100,000 - 199,999 were suffixed with an a, and pistols 200,000 through 299,999 were suffixed with a b.) In 1944, serial number markings were simplified with the full serial number appearing only on the slide, with the last four digits appearing on the frame.'

I will post pictures tomorrow. Any idea of it's worth? I know that the.380 is less common and more desirable and not being German makes it worth more as well. Who do you think would pay fair market price for this gun? I know it's a desired collector's piece but if I can't get a good value for it I'll just keep it another 20 years in the same condition.

My father has a 65 Superposed that is not salt wood, It could be something that came in mid-year but I always heard/read 66. For the Browning High Power Rifles, the salt wood was reported to affect a higher percentage of the higher grade guns and that the Safari grade guns were not as heavily affected because they got stocks from a different source.

I have a very nice FN 1922 that I have identified as a Model 25 No 2 in the.380 caliber. I may be wrong but everything seems to fit (model). It has a serial number just under 39,000. The numbers match on the slide extension, slide outer and inner, barrel, frame and magazine. The blueing is excellent except on the slide extension where there is some holster wear. It has no rust or pitting.

This was the only Mauser manufacturer at the time. The gun would be made in any caliber you want. The most popular of the era, of course, made up the majority of chamberings. The 257 Roberts was very popular for a time. Remington made the 720 and 721 in 257 R.
