I want to be able to clear the 'Recent Documents' list. Windows stores links under AppData / Application Data that I can automatically delete with a .bat file. I'd like to add the location / file for LibreOffice so I can clear it monthly. I've found how to remove the toolbar icon, change the number of files shown, etc. but that doesn't delete the stored information, just hides it.
Select the file format from the “Always save as” drop-down list that you want to use as the default for saving new files in LibreOffice. For example, if you want to always save your new documents in the most recent Microsoft Word format, select “Microsoft Word 2007-2013 XML”. Recent file list in Word. This is not as useful as it first seems. If I try to open one of these files I get a message saying that Word is unable to open that file even though I know it has been restored to the exact same location on my Mac’s drive. As a workaround you can use the 'Load URL' toolbar option to obtain a lengthier list of recent files. Tools Customize Toolbars tab on the 'Standard' Toolbar ensure the 'Load URL' Command is checked. If you don't have access to an Apple operating system, use Apple's no-cost 'in-browser' version of Pages to export it in a format that you can open with LibreOffice. Unfortunately, Pages doesn't have OpenDocument (ODT) export, (as of 2015), but it does have DOCX (Microsoft Word) and PDF (Portable Document Format) exports.
